The month of August has been an incredibly busy whirlwind! I'm excited to post pictures and reflections on all the recent adventures, but lately I've been too busy spinning and adventuring! I'm glad I restructured my time to focus on the Icelandic fiber, experimenting with yarns for weaving, and exploring the area. I have a notebook filled with sketches and several kilometers of yarn to weave in the near future. On a related note, I just entered a spinning contest that will take place shortly after returning home, so hopefully that will help keep the momentum going and also ensure I produce many more kilometers of unique yarns for weaving. The time here has already impacted my work and I'm really looking forward to the sculptural weavings and future collaborations that will come out of these experiences. For now, I'm just going to enjoy Iceland, the incredible wool, and the upcoming réttir, or sheep round ups!
