First Women's School in Iceland

Our residency is located in the building built as the first women's school in Iceland.  It was founded in 1879 in the town to the north, Skagaströnd.  It burned down in 1911, and it was rebuilt here in 1912.  There are fun historic photos all over and I'm living in one of the museum rooms.

The portraits of all the women who attended school here are all over the building.

We like to look at their hairstyles.  Here is someone with amazing style from the 1920s.
